Monday, May 11th, 2009Today is the day that Burgundy Camp starts. We got a sneak peak last evening as we drove down the Rout de Grand Crus. Even though all of us in the car had read books and studied maps; it was a sureal as the villeges bled into each other. Don’t close you eyes as Chambolle rolls into Nuits-St. George without much notice and so on and so on. We made it to our hotel, right off the Centre Ville in Beaune with out a much effort. The drive from Colmar, via the turn of the century castle Haut Koenigsbourg, brought us here by 7.00 p.m.
We are begining our day with showers, shaves and clean clothes; than off to the bulangerie for some jambon, cornichon and butter sandwiches, espresso and juice. It has been like waiting for christmas day….time to go vistit Faiveley, Domaine Drouhin and Eric Remy at Domaine Leflaive.
